Where
there is no vision the people perish…Proverbs 29:18
Vision is a spiritual picture offering
direction as to the divine plan for a particular people, place, dispensation, and time. Vision captures and captivates the one who sees it. It births a mission. Vision makes you see people, things, situations, and circumstances
the way God sees them. Vision can come with a scope. You could have a vision for
the evangelization of your class, hostel, faculty, department or campus in
general. You could have a vision for the evangelization of lecturers in your
school, the female folk who are engaging in sexual immorality and other vices, or the male students who are into cultism. God might be giving you a vision for
the freshmen on the campus, staylites,
or the final year students. Also, you could be given a vision to the non-teaching
staff or the church on the campus. Whatever the Lord is showing you, you need
to write it down and run with it.
If you are going to get God’s vision, it will
not come automatically. The first thing that will cause you to receive a vision
from God is your own personal dissatisfaction with the status quo. God does not
reveal His programme and intentions to just anyone. If you are not passionate
about revival, God will not reveal anything related to His plans concerning that
to you.
The second thing that will enable God to be
able to commit His vision of revival into your hands is your stable walk with
Him. If you are not serious about your relationship with God, He will not expose
His plans concerning revival to you.
On a final note, one other thing that is
essential before God can commit the vision of revival into your hands is what
you see. What you see is what you become. Do you see the possibility of revival
on your campus? Do you see the possibility of God using you as an agent of change? What do you set your mind on? If you constantly study, read, and
thirst for God’s move, it will not be long before God will be revealing to you
your own place in the coming revival on your campus.
