For the obedience of faith

Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: (Romans 16:25, 26)

God wants the nations to become obedient to the faith. This is the need for the revelation of the mystery of the gospel message. An incisive and in-depth examination of the person, purity and power of Christ is an urgent need today. We need to rediscover Jesus.

Paul was very bold to declare under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost that, "Him (Jesus) we preach!"

The reason we are not experiencing God’s presence and power as we ought in our gatherings today is because we have been quietly sidetracked by the enemy from seeking Jesus. In seeking Jesus, we are not referring to merely an intellectual knowing but a spiritual experience.

The modern-day church is satisfied with the status quo of endless meetings without revival. We are so earthly minded that we are no longer heavenly focused. We must beware of teachings and preachers who present a false perception of the true person of Jesus.

For men to be obedient to the faith of our Lord Jesus, there must be a divine revelation of divine mystery of the gospel to them. Many in our generation will continue to lie in unbelief until they have this revelation. This revelation is made known by the scriptures of the prophets (i.e the writings of the prophets). The prophets spoke and write as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit.

The revelation of the mystery of the gospel and the person of Jesus Christ is made possible through the preaching of God’s word. However, this preaching must be done under the influence of the Holy Spirit. It is not however limited to preaching alone. Every means of spreading the gospel will prove to be very potent in bringing kingdom realities to men. Songs, writings, drama ministrations, illustrations etc are channels through which gospel impact can/will be made. It is the Holy Spirit that helps men to understand the gospel message. It is not the oratory skills applied or the coinage of the words of the sermon that brings faith to men’s heart but the Spirit. The Holy Spirit reveals Christ to men.

I want you to know that the preaching of the gospel of Jesus is according to the commandment of our God. The question asked is: How will they believe except they hear? How will they hear without a preacher? (See Romans 10: 13-18). You need to understand that you must be a preacher but you also need to know that your preaching must be done in the power of the Holy Spirit. Paul told the Corinthian church that he didn’t speak to them in the excellency of speech but in the demonstration of the Spirit and power. You need to seek the fire of God for this kind of soul-hot ministration that will bring results.

It is time to seek the Lord so that our preaching will bring men to the faith. It is time to seek the Lord so that believers can be really strengthened and built up to carry on with the kingdom agenda for this last days.

Are you ready to experience the fire of the Holy Ghost? Are you ready to change the status quo or are you merely satisfied? Do you want the people that God has called you to reach to be obedient to the faith and not merely professing it? It is time to seek the Lord!
