The Reality of Spiritual Warfare
The devil, described as the god of this world, works with his cohorts, the demons, to influence people and systems contrary to God’s purpose. His tactics include blinding minds, corrupting institutions, and sponsoring false ideologies.
Paul warns: “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices” (2 Corinthians 2:11). Life is not a playground; it is a battleground. Believers must be equipped with knowledge and the whole armour of God to walk in victory.
Yet, our victory is assured: “Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
Areas of Influence
The enemy penetrates various spheres of life:
- Leadership: Behind corruption, confusion, and destructive policies.
- Music, Entertainment & Fashion: Promoting lust, greed, and false fulfillment.
- Family: Destabilizing homes through divorce, perversion, and violence.
- Religion: Sponsoring false teachings, cults, and counterfeit movements.
- Technology & Media: Polluting digital spaces with ungodly content.
- Business: Encouraging bribery, corruption, and ungodly expectations.
These influences shape culture negatively, binding many in lust, greed, and deception.
The Gospel as the Panacea
The gospel is God’s power over the god of this world (Romans 1:16). This is why the enemy blinds minds and snatches away truth before people can believe (Luke 8:12). False teachings, ideologies, and religions are all attempts to dilute or replace the gospel.
But the gospel remains the only message that saves, transforms, and liberates. It is the light that pierces darkness and the power that breaks chains.
Walking in Victory
Victory for the believer is not a probability—it is a guaranteed reality. To walk in this victory, we must:
- Put on the whole armour of God (Ephesians 6:11–18): truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, the Word, and prayer.
- Guard our hearts against offences, lust, and lies (Proverbs 4:23).
- Live in righteousness through Christ, never removing the breastplate that protects us.
- Operate by faith to quench the fiery darts of the enemy.
- Wield the sword of the Spirit—the Word of God—as both an offensive and defensive weapon.
- Pray always with perseverance, building ourselves up in the Spirit (Jude 20).
The armour of God ensures we stand firm against principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness in high places.
Conclusion
The god of this world seeks to blind, corrupt, and destroy, but the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. Our victory is purchased at Calvary, and we enforce it by living in truth, righteousness, faith, and prayer.
Friend, the call is clear: take up the whole armour of God, fight the good fight of faith, and walk in your guaranteed victory.
