As a secondary school student, I lived in the school hostel. In my penultimate year, I was appointed as the school's social prefect. Before my appointment, our social night, which was held every Friday, seemed to lack the right substance that could create the perfect balance of entertainment and education. I thought of what to do, and I got an idea. I decided to bring in something new. I would write down questions, and people who pick specific numbers would be required to give an answer. If they got the question correctly, they would have the opportunity to get a little gift from me. That was how I changed the narrative. It was a godly alternative to the activities that characterized the social nights before I was appointed.
Taking the lead requires being courageous and decisive. Influencing society positively with godly values is a necessity. Getting insight and applying wisdom to solve problems around us is another way we can take the lead. We need to be very intentional about coming up with inventions and innovations that will alleviate people’s suffering and bring hope to our generation.
The critical need of our world is people who can take the lead and spearhead transformation in every sphere of influence. They are needed in religion, government, education, and business, just to mention a few. The scarcity of these men and women has led to the breakdown of law and order, economic lull, dearth, and terror.
As a leader, there are specific skills and strategies you need in order to set your footing on the path of leading a change movement. Without these skills, your quest for transformation will continue to be a mirage. You must set yourself free from the illusion that you can drive change without these skills. Stop living in a world of mere wishes. Rise and build your capacity for this. It’s time to yield to the cry of destiny within you. Get empowered for change!
As we read of great people in history, we discover certain attitudes that enabled them to become what they became. They saw needs and they met those needs. They saw gaps, and they filled them. They saw battles, and they conquered. Thus, they etched their names in the annals of history.
In our contemporary times, some folks are also changing our generation. Yes, they are changing our world by making a positive impact in areas like tech, education, and leadership. One interesting thing is that majority of these people are young. I strongly believe that people everywhere need to rise and impact community. They need to be change agents.
The things I have shared in this book have the capacity to work in any area of engagement and life. It is written for those who desire to build their capacity to become change agents anywhere they are planted. It is my hope that you will not remain the same after reading this book, and you will employ the information and inspiration you will get here to do something that will transform your life, community, and nation.
You are a leader and a change maker. You have been destined to be a leader. The Holy Book says, YOU SHALL BE THE HEAD! YOU ARE A CITY SET ON A HILL! YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD! You have been prophesied to be an example for others to follow in your generation. You are not made to lead a low life. God has destined you to provide leadership to those within your sphere of influence. You must take the lead now!
