The God of all seasons

Devotional Text: While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease (Genesis 8:22). 

God is a God of times, seasons and dispensation. He is also the God of Eternity. He is timeless. The creation story offers us an understanding of the orderliness of God. While some philosophers and free thinkers may think that the world is out of order and that God is not in control, what they do not understand is that the most High rules in the affairs of men. 

He changes times and seasons. He sets one up and brings one down. Divine promotion also comes from him. The consistency in the progression of time, days and the change of natural seasons reveal the orderliness of God. 

God is intentional about the seasons and the changes in our lives. He remains God through our days of sojourn here on earth. He will reveal Himself as God in whatever season of life you find yourself in. For instance, if the children of God were to go to war, God would reveal Himself as a man of war. Our God is also the Prince of Peace. He is described as both Lion and Lamb. 

In 1 Kings 20:28, the Bible says, "And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the Lord, Because the Syrians have said, The Lord is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the Lord". 

God is the God of your mountain seasons and valley seasons. No matter the spiritual terrain, you can have victory through the intelligence heaven provides. God engages the concept of timing and seasons to bring His purposes, promises and prophecies to pass in our lives here on earth. He makes all things beautiful in His time. 

God knows our days and He wants us to come into the knowledge of His Son so that we can live a life of impact! This is the reason you need to align with God today. Your times are in His hands. Life is spent per time. Yielding your life and days to the God of all seasons is the starting point to understanding your times and seasons. This understanding provides you with wisdom to make your life count for now and eternity. 

Action Point/Challenge: Spend some time to consider the precision and beauty of creation. Think about the consistency of seasons. 

Prayer: Lord, thank you for being God in my life and through the seasons. Help me to trust you as I transit from one phase to the other in life.
