Those who do not wait upon the Lord waste precious time. They waste away spiritually and become vulnerable to the enemy. But those who wait on Him gain strength, foresight, and endurance. The prayers you invest today will secure your future.

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Waiting is not passive—it is active engagement with God. It is discerning His will, discerning the times, and discerning your own season. Discernment gives direction and strength to your prayers (1 Timothy 1:18). It empowers you to cast down strongholds and imaginations that oppose God’s knowledge (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Revelational Knowledge for Victory
Victory in the Christian life requires revelational knowledge.
- Against sin: We overcome the works of the flesh by understanding God’s provision through the Cross (Romans 6:6).
- In faith: To fight the good fight of faith, we need divine understanding to keep pressing forward in God’s agenda.
- For the future: It is better to fight from the standpoint of victory through revelation than to struggle without understanding.
The sons of Issachar discerned the times and knew when power was to change hands. Their insight was indispensable in the transition to David’s reign. Likewise, we need revelation to navigate our own seasons.
Three Essentials
1. Spend Time with God Until Something Happens
Seek Him until the heavens open and His voice becomes clear. Like Ezekiel, who saw visions by the river of Chebar (Ezekiel 1:1), and Jeremiah, who was promised great and mighty things (Jeremiah 33:3), we must persist until divine encounters shape our walk.
2. Gain Deep Insight into the Word of God
Study scripture not only through others’ lenses but from God’s perspective. Grasp both the basics and deeper truths. Read Spirit-filled books that edify and strengthen your walk. Our generation needs believers with depth, accuracy, and correctness in the Word. An untaught generation will be weak, even if loud.
3. Cultivate Intimacy with the Holy Spirit
Seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit if you have not yet received it. Grow in His fruit and gifts. Learn how He communicates His mind and experience the power available through His indwelling presence. Intimacy with the Spirit is the key to living above sin and doing exploits in the kingdom.

Waiting upon the Lord is the secret to renewed strength, spiritual foresight, and victorious living. It is the pathway to discernment, revelation, and intimacy with God. Those who wait will soar like eagles, run without weariness, and walk without fainting.
