Jesus Christ is the firstborn among many brethren. The purpose in the heart of the Father is that several people will be raised as sons and daughters unto glory. This perfectly aligns by the name we who accept Christ are called – Christians.
God wants everyone to be part of this great family and that everyone would walk in the footsteps of His Son, be conformed to the image/structure/building/form of His Son. He wants us to be like Jesus so that as He is, so shall we be.
Christ is the Standard, the acceptable Substitute and Sacrifice. For God to be pleased with anyone, Christ must be found in such a one. The middle wall of partition between man and God is broken when a sinner accepts Christ.
Romans 5:12 – We gain access and acceptance by God and we are launched into a life of grace by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. A pattern is a type of. Salvation makes us connected to Christ, brings us into a relationship with Him and we are thus adopted into God’s family.
This experience then makes us to have not only the presence of Christ but the nature of Christ which gives us power over sin.
