The devotional life of the Joshua Generation

Today, we continue the Joshua Generation series. Yesterday, we examined that the upcoming generation would only succeed if they are well discipled. Today, we are looking at what their devotional life should be.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8

The Joshua Generation must give place to the word above motivational talk and other content that are not the word. The Joshua Generation must ensure that all they do is according to the revelation of the word of God. This Generation will return to the ancient landmarks as revealed in the word. This is what will make God begin to work with them even as He did in the past.

God will also begin to open new revelations in scripture (not strange to scripture but coming with greater emphasis) to them concerning their present dispensation.

It was Martin Luther that got the revelation of Justification by faith. That message revolutionalized his dispensation. John Wesley got the revelation of sanctification. God used him to revive the teaching and experience of holiness. Charles Parham was used to spearhead the move of the Holy Spirit baptism. William Seymour was also instrumental in this move.

We can go on and on to men like Kenneth Hagin, etc.

God is raising the future. Join the chariot!

The Joshua Generation will be devoted to God that sin will not be permitted in their camp. Read Joshua 7. It will be a generation that is passionate for the holiness and the glory of God. They will avoid the excesses and failures of the older generation which perished in the wilderness. The younger generation saw their older generation parleying with idolatry and worldliness in the wilderness and avoided falling into the same.

The new Generation would avoid it like plague and be devoted followers and lovers of Jesus.

Say: Lord, baptize me with your love!
