The Kingdom of God - Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Romans 14:17 KJV

Righteousness

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these shall be added unto you.

The kingdom of God is;

The reign of God

The presence of God

The state of being revived

The dominion of God

The arrival of God

The righteousness of God

Revival is God sending the rain of righteousness upon us. Hosea 10:12. The work of righteousness shall be peace and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever. Isaiah 32:17.

These works are done by the Holy Spirit – Isaiah 32:15-18

When the Holy Spirit is come, He will reprove the world of sin, judgement and righteousness.

The characteristics of righteousness

The characteristics of the righteousness we are trusting God for and that which is an evidence of God’s reign in our hearts and lives.

Imputed righteousness

Imparted righteousness

Impactful righteousness: The righteousness that is desirable. It is that which makes those who do not possess it to seek salvation through Christ.

Morality is not righteousness. God’s righteousness stems out of a relationship with Him. It’s a royal, priesthood and a family relationship. 1 Peter 2:9. Jesus said, If you love Me, keep my commandments.

When we are in a state of revival, we love righteousness and hate iniquity. Hebrews 1:9. We value righteousness above meat and drink.

Our standing enables us not only to manifest that life but to affect our world with righteousness

Peace

There is so much unrest in the world. There is also so much contention and noise in the visible church. Doctrinal differences and disobedience to divine authority abounds today. The issue of meat and drink creates a lot of problems because some people’s bellies have become their gods.

The church is currently experiencing spiritual battle (we engage in spiritual warfare) and physical battles (terrorism). We need God’s peace.

Some example of spiritual attacks

Disobedience to parents (constituted divine authority)

Worldliness

False teachings

Materialism

Deception

The power of joy

You need to sustain the joy of the Spirit irrespective of what you see. No matter what the situation is, God is bringing a solution. Habakkuk 3:17-19

Why do we need to continue to rejoice even when things are not going too well? We need to rejoice because that is where our strength is. There is great strength in remaining joyful in the Lord.

Sorrowing does not bring revival. Only strength and confidence does. The enemy will try everything possible to remove your joy. One index of revival is when we maintain joy in all circumstances. Being joyful is the right posture to receive from heaven.

The Israelites lost focus on the Promised Land and became discouraged. They gradually slid into murmuring, anger, complaining and bitterness against God’s appointed servant. This barred them from seeing the glory of God. Let nothing steal your joy.

Rejoice about what God is doing in your life. They may look like difficulties and sufferings but God is fashioning you into becoming an agent of revival. Lamentations 3:26.

Your joy should not rest in mean and drink but in the eternal agenda of God. The kingdom of God is beyond meat and drink. We will have revival when our joy begins to rest in seeing God’s will accomplished. That’s why it is joy in the Holy Ghost. What gives you joy?
