Break up your fallow ground

 

 

A fallow ground is;

1.      A ground that has been left unused for a long time

2.      A ground filled with thorns, weed, stumps and probably trees

3.      A ground that has become hard

4.      An unfruitful land

5.      A ground without scent of water, talk less of rain.

 

When God is speaking about ground, He is speaking our hearts. The Bible says, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23. Jesus told the Pharisaic people that it is only the things that come out of the heart that defiles a man. God needs broken hearts. He cannot despise them. Only people who know God are allowed to be close to Him. God only uses and trusts broken men and women.

 

The alabaster box had to be broken before it could be used. No matter how much we seek God, if we do not come with the right heart/motive, we will not experience Him.

 

God is willing to pour His rain of righteousness upon us that will bring the knowledge of God to several places but He first checks the condition of our hearts before such outpouring.

 

The extent to which God owns you is the extent to which He can use you. God knows what is in your heart even though you may not know it. That was why David prayed, “Search me O God and know my heart.”

 

Some of us need to pray that God should heal our hearts. We have been back-stabbed, betrayed and abused in the past. Some were even offended by their leaders (either at work or in the church). A heart that is not yet healed cannot be trusted. That heart is prone to fighting back. It is prone to anger and revenge.

 

We need God to break up our fallow ground. We need God to heal our hearts. We need God to purge us. We need God to conquer our hearts and own us completely.
