Running with a Vision

Vision is a God-given picture of His purpose for your life. It captivates, sets you on the run, and keeps you pressing forward. Without vision, people scatter; with vision, they rally to fulfill God’s agenda.  

"Where there is no vision, the people perish." — Proverbs 29:18  

Characteristics of Vision

- Vision captures the heart. Paul described himself as a “prisoner of the Lord” because he was captivated by the heavenly vision.  

- Vision sets a man on the run. Habakkuk was told to write the vision plainly so that others could run with it (Habakkuk 2:2).  

- Vision requires urgency. Time is limited, souls are perishing, and the enemy is walking to and fro. We must run to stay ahead.  

Pressing Forward

Paul declared that he had not yet arrived but pressed on toward the goal (Philippians 3:12–13). Vision keeps us thirsting for more of God and more for Him. It delivers us from complacency and drives us to possess more territory for Christ.

Waiting on the Lord

Strength for the race comes from waiting on the Lord.  

- Isaiah 40:31: Those who wait on Him renew their strength, mount up with wings as eagles, run without weariness, and walk without fainting.  

Waiting births perception and power. It gives us the vision and vigor of the eagle—sharp sight, discernment, flexibility, and strength to soar without exhausting ourselves.  

Empowered by the Spirit

The eagle rides on wind thermals, not its own flapping. Likewise, we must rely on the Spirit, not the flesh. Zechariah 4:6 reminds us: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit.”  

Walking in the Spirit enables us to live above sin, do kingdom exploits, and deepen fellowship with God. Only then can we run effectively with vision and fulfill our calling.
